Rumble in the Concrete Jungle!
FOURTH DRAFT
Instead of Spanish, I re-envisioned the idea for Thailand. I have a sister-in-law who is half Thai so I'm sure she would appreciate the story coming through her neck of the woods. Also, Thai is a culture hardly explored in the visual arts. I find out that they have a version of bullfighting, but not with humans involved. The bulls fight another. Kind of like Pokemon and Michael Vick. Then I find out that Red Bull, the energy drink that gives "you wings," originated in Thailand. THEN I find out the habitat of the largest bovine in the world lives in Southeast Asia, including Thailand: the Gaur. If the matador wants to challenge the roughest, meanest, toughest bull, it would be the gaur. Oh, the serendipity of research.

THIRD DRAFT
I trimmed the fat and reduced the comic to two pages. Now I call it, "The Bison and the Butcher."

SECOND DRAFT
The concept was returned to the bull. This time expanded into 8 comic pages and focusing more on the bull fighter than the little girl. This time I called it "Campion!"

1.5 DRAFT (the TANGENT DRAFT)
A different story but with the same sentiment towards family. This story was set in the American West using folk characters as musketeers against a platoon of robots gone rogue from government orders. The robots are called "iron coats" after the gray and blue coats of the American Civil War. The character design of the man evolves for "The Bull and the Butcher." Perhaps I will do a robot story another day.

FIRST DRAFT
The concept was formed as a comic first.
I called it "Matatoro." Which translates from Spanish to "kill" "bull."
LANVIN COLOGNE - AVANT GARDE

Sometimes, us artists are social bottom-feeders and stray from high class. We can wear cologne too. In fact, a cologne who's target audience are artists would be... avant garde!
In 2011, Lanvin released a cologne for men called "Avant Garde." The marketing sucked. They should have marketed to artists.

FINAL DRAFT
During a quiet time in Starbucks, after losing the most recent text messages from my dream woman, I made a silent prayer to keep on trucking. Minutes later, I trucked onto an idea: instead of making the commercial standard television time, what if the clip was part of a marketing campaign on Instagram. Instagram now has video. 15 second video. Plenty of time for something sweet.

True story. I would know, I was there.

TANGENT DRAFT
I played a What If scenario of Delilah talking to Samson before the mighty man brought down the house.

FIRST DRAFT
The seed of this concept was a story experiment with my own past. The thumbnailed comic "Flapjack Fatigue."
INCOGNITO MOSQUITO

The Private Insective
I loved these books growing up in elementary school. I was able to relate because there are plenty of mosquitoes in Florida. I learned to love them thanks to E.A. Haas. Here is my version, a mix of my favorite detective BBC series' Sherlock and Luther.

FIRST DRAFT
Initially, I had an idea called "Blackberry Bramble" which pit a jealous Praying Mantis swordsmen at odds with a male Ladybug. It was largely inspired by The Cask of the Amontillado by Edgar Allen Poe I read in middle school thanks to my English teacher, Mrs. Bacon (and yes, she was related to Kevin Bacon), and some personal angst I drove over on the road of life.
LEAP INTO LIFE

Jump. Jump. Jump!

more coming soon...

I was never on the brink of suicide. But in middle school my girlfriend at the time (shout out to the "puppy lovers") called me saying that a mutual friend, her homegirl, was on the brink of suicide. I called the girl. I reminded her about the friends she had and we talked about the future. Would it be crazy to say 2 academic school years prior the homegirl was my first kiss at a truth or dare? Mhm. Fact IS stranger than fiction.
SAMURAI JACK

Episode LIII
Jack and the Valkyrie

Samurai Jack is one of those anomalies like silent commercials that make you look at the television screen because you are expecting noise. A great series in its original format, but friends I know complain they fall asleep when binge-watching on Netflix.
